Since Halifax Customer First opened in their new office in Horton Street in November 2013 it has demonstrated how well a one-stop shop works for the people of Calderdale. Halifax Customer First is modern, light and airy with a comfortable waiting area. If someone wants to discuss something of a more sensitive or private nature there are private meeting rooms available.
There are three self-service cash payment points and if anyone needs help learning to use them there are Council colleagues available to show how easy it is. There are also six customer-use PCs which can be used to access a whole range of Council services from setting up a direct debit to paying council tax to requesting a special waste collection or even looking for employment. There are knowledgeable, friendly people on hand to help anyone not sure how to use them. You don’t even need to have a computer at home to take advantage of the on-line facilities
All Council services can be accessed at Halifax Customer First; everything from council tax and benefits enquiries right through to housing needs, planning advice and licensing applications. Important partner organisations are also based in the building; these include Pennine Housing, West Yorkshire Police, Citizens Advice and JobCentre Plus.
Halifax Customer First makes it easier to speak to the Council.
